Moving countries can be an emotional experience – saying goodbye to friends, family, your local barista… but luckily you don’t have to say goodbye to your pets! If you’re moving overseas and you want to take your loyal pal/s with you, you can use our safe, efficient and reliable pet transport service to keep the family together.
Not sure what pet relocation is all about? We often get asked how it works, who our clients are, and other general queries you'd expect for a niche business like ours, so we’ve put together an informative guide to explain what Pet Transport is in black and white. Who Can Use Pet Transportation Services? Anyone living in New Zealand who has a pet to move! If you’ve got the will, we’ve got the means. We help Kiwis and expats take their pets out of New Zealand. We’re also the official pet courier for SPCA, Blind Foundation Guide Dogs, NZ Defence Force, The Paw Blacks and we’re recommended by the MPI and vets nationwide. We even help local governments in countries without established protocols develop policy and procedures for the safe transport of pets into and out of their country. What is Pet Transportation? Simply put, it’s transporting pets from New Zealand to Australia and other pins on the map. We make sure your pet is comfortable throughout their travel, all the legalities are taken care of, and you and your pet are reunited in your new home with as little stress as possible. We ensure your pet has the best possible travel experience by handling every element in the logistics chain of their export with the utmost care. When Do I Need to Get in Touch with Pet Transportation? As soon as possible. Your pet may need to begin a vaccine schedule for entry to your particular destination. Where Can My Pet Travel To? Your pet can stamp their passport in Australia, the UK, Europe, Asia and the UAE, Africa, India, South America, USA, Canada and many more places! Different countries have varying laws around the minimum age a pet can travel, and the required vaccines before flying in, so we are here to help you tick off all the relevant boxes. Why is It Important to Transport My Pet? Let no family member be left behind! Pets can’t share a seat with you on the plane (even though watching an in-flight movie would be better with a snuggle buddy). By law, all animals are treated like an export item, meaning pets need to meet all the legal requirements and be flown in their own special area of a plane. How Does Pet Transportation Work? If you’re moving overseas with pets, the first step is to request an online quote. Once you’ve filled out your pet’s details and we’ve given you a customized quote, we can work together to find the perfect crate for your pet’s transition. We offer crate training, so your pet feels confident and relaxed on the day of the flight. Then we'll tell you which vaccines your pet needs before the move and handle all the legal paperwork for you. The MPI is responsible for the final pet checks, so we recommend using these MPI vets to ensure your pet is taken care of by the best. When the final day on New Zealand soil arrives, we will attend the MPI check, prepare your pet's travel crate, and make sure they have a fresh supply of water and food. We'll take them for walks, play with them, plenty of cuddles and pats, take them on toilet breaks with treats and water before the journey. Our mantra is destress, hydrate, relax. If you’re keen to learn more about us and what we do, send us a message, give us a call, or pop into our pet-friendly office. You can kick-start the pet transportation process by requesting a quote online, and we’ll get back to you with a customised solution. While you’re waiting for our response, check out our Instagram and Facebook pages to see the happy faces of pets we’ve moved overseas – maybe your pet will be a featured model soon ;)
